BurnRate is built on a simple principle: your data is your data. We don't collect it, we don't store it, and we don't have servers to put it on even if we wanted to. BurnRate runs entirely on your Mac.
BurnRate collects zero personal data. Specifically:
All data entered into BurnRate — including your salary, meeting history, attendee information, and cost reports — is stored locally on your Mac using Apple's native data storage frameworks. This data never leaves your device.
We do not operate servers, databases, or cloud infrastructure. There is no "backend" to BurnRate. The app runs entirely on your computer.
BurnRate does not integrate with or transmit data to any third-party services. We do not use:
BurnRate is distributed through the Mac App Store. Apple may collect standard purchase and download data as outlined in Apple's Privacy Policy. ShiftPoint does not have access to this data beyond aggregate, anonymized sales reports provided by Apple.
BurnRate does not request access to your calendar, contacts, microphone, camera, location, or any other system permissions beyond what is necessary for basic app functionality. No calendar permissions are required.
BurnRate is not directed at children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect any data, we do not knowingly collect information from children.
If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Given that BurnRate collects no data, meaningful changes to this policy are unlikely.
If you have questions about this privacy policy, please contact us at info@shiftpoint.us.
Summary: BurnRate collects zero data. Your salary and meeting history never leave your Mac. No servers. No accounts. No tracking.
